【Prenatal DNA Testing】I was relieved that seeDNA has a branch in Korea.

1. Why I chose seeDNA
This was the only place where I, as a Japanese person living in Korea, could get a prenatal DNA test done.
Since explanations were available in Japanese, I felt I could receive the test with peace of mind as a Japanese person.
There is no such testing available in Korea, so I was truly relieved that seeDNA has a branch office in Korea.
Thank you very much. Also, many people have used this service and I was able to see reviews, which gave me confidence, so I chose this company.

2. Customer service
The support was in Korean, but email replies were quick and the phone support was good as well!
I filled out the paperwork together with staff at the Korean office, and they kindly guided me through it.
They also told me where to go for the blood draw, so I was able to manage it on my own! (Korean language ability is required.)

3. Testing fee
I can't say it was cheap, but considering it's for the baby, it's not an amount I couldn't afford.

4. Turnaround time
I had seen many reviews saying that even with the express (speed) testing option, the results still came back late, and that paying the extra fee had been pointless.
So I didn't use the express testing option and just waited for the results.
I was told the results would arrive between June 11 and June 18, and they actually arrived around 1 pm on June 17.
The results came within the announced reporting window, but during that time I was anxious about the results every single day, and it was hard.
It wasn't late, and the report wasn't behind schedule, but while waiting it felt incredibly slow, to the point where I wondered if I should have opted for the express testing after all.

5. Reporting of results
It was a bit confusing, perhaps because the way results are reported differs from how it's done in Japan.
I wasn't sure where to look to tell whether it was 0% or 99%.
But it was nice that I was notified by email!
