[Prenatal DNA Test] They Responded to Emails Even on Weekends (2023.07.20)
2023.07.24
Email from a customer in Nagasaki Prefecture who used the Prenatal DNA Test
Thank you for the result report.
I really appreciate everything you did for me.
1. Why I chose seeDNA
Looking at the website, I felt it seemed more trustworthy than any other testing company.
It also has a large number of past tests, and I couldn't find any reviews mentioning incorrect results.
2. Customer support
When I emailed with questions, I received replies within as little as 30 minutes during business hours, which was a great help. They responded to emails even on weekends.
They also arranged the blood draw appointment with the hospital on my behalf, so everything went smoothly and without worry.
3. Testing fee
The prominent price on the website was 109,800 yen, which felt cheaper than other companies, but when I proceeded to the application form, there was an additional charge depending on the number of weeks of pregnancy.
At 7 weeks, it cost roughly an extra 10,000 yen.
Requesting expedited testing added about another 20,000 yen, bringing the total to 140,000 yen.
4. Testing speed
I requested expedited testing, and the result email arrived around 2:30 PM on the 8th business day.
The 7th business day fell right before a consecutive holiday, so I had hoped the results would arrive on that day, but unfortunately they didn't come until after the holiday, which honestly felt like a long and stressful wait. Still, I was glad the results notification did arrive within the promised reporting period. Since I saw another customer review mentioning that a person who did not use expedited testing received results on their 10th business day, I've somewhat regretted paying the extra 20,000 yen for expedited service.
For anyone planning to get tested going forward, expedited testing is stated to report results in 4 to 8 business days, but if you expect the fastest possible turnaround, it can be mentally taxing and isn't good for your body during pregnancy, so I'd recommend waiting patiently.
5. Result report
The result was 99.9%.
Counting from the first day of my last period, I was 7w5d (with the doctor's diagnosis at 7w0d) when the blood was drawn, and there was no need for retesting, so I was very glad to be able to make an early decision about whether to continue the pregnancy or terminate it.
