Could a poor method of collecting oral epithelial cells with the swab affect the test results?

The result came out showing a parent-child relationship of 0%,
but could our poor method of collecting the oral epithelial cells with the swab
have affected the test results?
For example, rubbing too hard, or not drying it sufficiently.
