이번에 저희 seeDNA에 검사를 의뢰해 주셔서 대단히 감사합니다.

유선으로도 말씀드렸던 내용입니다만, 어떤 검사에서도 100% 확률이라는 건 이론상 불가능합니다. 국제 기준에서는 친부계수 99.9% 이상을 친부로 판정하지만, 저희 seeDNA 자사 연구소의 결과는 10배 높은 99.99% 이상 또는 0%의 친부계수를 보장합니다. 99.99%의 친부계수는 100%에 근접하는 확률로 친자관계임을 뜻하는 유전학 용어입니다. 친부계수 99.99% 이상의 결과가 나왔을 경우 이를 부정하는 것은 사실상 어려운 일입니다. 100% 수치가 나오지 않을 뿐 가장 정확한 혈연관계를 의미합니다.

모든 검사가 종료된 후에는 휴먼 에러에 의한 미스 판정을 없애기 위해서 데이터가 얻어진 후에 결과 해석을 2회 진행하는 더블 체크를 진행합니다. 저희 실험실에서 검사한 전체 피험자 데이터와 상호 비교하여 일치/불일치 건수를 확인합니다. 이때, 만약 검체가 뒤바뀌거나, 검사 정확도에 문제가 있어 기존의 데이터에서 친부로 확인되는 케이스가 있을 시 발견이 가능하오나, 연간 4,000건 이상의 검사 중 한 건의 에러도 발견되지 않았으니 안심하셔도 됩니다.

As we mentioned over the phone, a 100% probability is theoretically impossible in any test. Under international standards, a paternity index of 99.9% or higher is judged as the father, but the results from our own seeDNA laboratory guarantee a paternity index that is ten times higher, at 99.99% or above, or 0%. A paternity index of 99.99% is a genetics term meaning a parent-child relationship with a probability close to 100%. When a result of 99.99% or higher paternity index is obtained, it is virtually impossible to deny it. It simply does not reach a figure of 100%, but it signifies the most accurate blood relationship.

After all testing is completed, in order to eliminate mistaken judgments caused by human error, we carry out a double check in which the results are analyzed twice after the data is obtained. We cross-compare the data with that of all subjects tested in our laboratory to confirm the number of matches/mismatches. At this point, if a sample were switched or there were a problem with testing accuracy such that a case confirmed as the father appeared in existing data, it could be detected; however, out of more than 4,000 tests per year, not a single error has been found, so you can rest assured.

Also, if you still feel uneasy, one option is to include Man 2 in the test and confirm a result of 0%. Testing is possible if you send only Man 2's sample, and since a refund has been processed, the cost is the same as the initial fee.
