On November 18, 2020, we received an email from a customer in Aichi Prefecture with the following content.
Thank you for the results report!
I'm so glad it was a happy result (; ;)
There's just one thing I was wondering about.
The result was 99.9996%,
but since it wasn't 99.9999%, I'm a little worried. Is he really the child's father? (; ;)
◆◆◆Our reply◆◆◆
Regarding the difference between the 99.9996% and 99.9999% you asked about,
first, when a probability of paternity of 99.9% or higher is obtained,
by international standards it is considered a parent-child relationship that cannot be overturned.
Our standard determines that a parent-child relationship exists at 99.99% or higher.
As for the last digit,
since a child inherits genetic information from both parents,
there is never a complete match between father and child.
It is a statistically calculated value, so it has no effect whatsoever on the result.
