【Paternity Test】\"The result was the same as the other company's, but I will accept it.\"
2017.07.12
This is an email received on July 12, 2017 from a customer in Shiga Prefecture who requested a father-child test.
Dear seeDNA,
Thank you very much for conducting the test for my personal matter this time.
As for the test results, they were the same as the other company's, but I will accept them.
I have a small question about the test: when the result was determined to be 0%, did you perform the test twice to confirm that there was no mistake?
Also, I had consulted with you before the test, but is it necessary for me to undergo any other testing?
Thank you in advance.

Dear ** **,
Thank you for your continued support.
As in your request, when the result shows a paternity probability of 0%, it is common practice to compare the result with another company's as a second opinion, and this is effective in preventing human error.
In this test as well, we performed the analysis twice, but since both times the analysis used oral epithelium as the specimen, strictly speaking, we cannot completely rule out the possibility of a mutation caused by chimerism.
However, the probability of a misjudgment caused by chimerism is extremely low, and there has not been a single reported case in Japan, so it is our opinion that no further re-testing is necessary.
