A message from a customer who requested a prenatal DNA paternity test.

On May 10, 2017, we received the following email from a customer, a woman in her twenties from Aichi Prefecture.

To the seeDNA Customer Support ** team

Thank you for your continued support.
Thank you so much for your quick and smooth
handling of my case, even faster than the
scheduled date for the test results.

I feel like the worries I had been
carrying alone have cleared up.

Regarding the test results,
does a paternity affirmation probability of 0%
mean the conclusion is that there is no possibility of paternity?!

Seeing figures like 99.9% or 0% made me
anxious…

Also, after the birth, will a postnatal
DNA test
be necessary?!

And does this mean that a DNA test was
performed at 2,688 locations?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions.
I would appreciate your answers.

Dear ****,

Thank you very much for your continued support.
Thank you for contacting us despite your busy schedule.

We are truly glad that we were able to be of help to you, ***.

Regarding the presence or absence of a blood relationship, please refer to page 3 of the report, [Analysis of Test Results].

Based on this test result, we believe you may conclude that there is no blood relationship between the fetus and you, ***.

When test results have been obtained through a prenatal test, even if you were to undergo a postnatal test, it is normally hard to imagine the results being overturned, unless the subject's DNA has a mutation such as chimerism.
Regarding the content of this test, please refer to page 3 of the report, [Test Details].
For both the fetus's DNA and yours, ***, we compared 2,688 DNA sequences called SNPs, which are effective for determining the presence or absence of a blood relationship.
If you have any questions or concerns about DNA testing in the future, please feel free to contact us anytime.

Thank you very much for using our service on this occasion.
