Before we know it, it's already December. It was hot just a little while ago, but the autumn leaves have already come and gone, and the skies have turned wintry.
Many people use December to do a thorough year-end cleaning and put things in order. At our company as well, December brings an increase in customers who want to finish their DNA testing and welcome the new year with a clear mind. And by late December, nearly all customers tell us they want their results before the year ends. Our staff will do everything possible to meet such requests, but customers who apply near the last business day of the year may not have their requests met.
As announced on our website, we will be closed for the year-end and New Year holidays from Saturday, December 28 through Sunday, January 5, during which we cannot handle phone or email inquiries, nor perform any testing. Sample reception continues through Thursday, December 27, but it should be clear that even if a sample arrives on the 27th, we cannot report results before the year ends. Even with an express testing application, the expected result reporting timeframe is 5 to 10 business days for prenatal testing and 2 to 4 days for paternity testing. Therefore, customers who absolutely must have their results before the year ends should count backward from December 28 (Friday), our last business day of the year, and apply with a schedule that allows plenty of margin. Please be especially careful with legal testing, as arranging a witnessed sample collection date can take additional time.
Every year around this time, we receive many requests from customers asking for faster results, but no matter how hard our testing staff work, the time required for testing cannot be shortened. Please also keep in mind that, depending on the condition of the sample, retesting may become necessary. Having time to spare leads to peace of mind.
