◇ Background of the Offering

The number of people seeking "DNA testing" to resolve blood-relation troubles such as infidelity, the "300-day rule" after divorce, and inheritance disputes has been increasing year after year.
This is because DNA is data that remains unchanged throughout a person's life, making DNA testing the most reliable form of confirmation.
For DNA testing of blood relationships, samples are mainly collected from the oral mucosa, known as buccal epithelium.
DNA testing can also be performed using samples other than cotton swabs, such as toothbrushes, hair, umbilical cords, and bodily fluids.
However, when a submitted sample falls under any of the following cases, accurate judgment is difficult with existing DNA testing methods.
● The sample's DNA has been damaged by ultraviolet light from the sun or by drugs
● The sample's DNA has degraded over time
● The subject's DNA is present only in trace amounts and mixed with a third party's DNA
● A mutation has occurred in the subject's DNA
In cases falling under the above, there have been numerous instances where domestic DNA testing providers could not produce accurate results and were unable to address customers' concerns.

Guided by these two corporate principles, our company independently developed the new "Ultra-High-Precision Paternity DNA Testing" technology in order to provide accurate paternity testing even in such cases.
◇ What Is Ultra-High-Precision Paternity DNA Testing?
Rather than the STR analysis*1 traditionally used in paternity testing, this groundbreaking testing method uses our independently developed prenatal DNA testing technology (SNP analysis*2) to guarantee a probability of paternity (or maternity) affirmation of 99.9999999% or higher.
With this testing technology, blood relationships can be confirmed with high probability even in samples that were previously difficult to judge.
The differences from conventional paternity testing are as follows.
*1... Short for Short Tandem Repeat. A DNA profiling method that confirms biological blood relationships, such as parent-child relationships, by comparing differences in the number of repetitions of the same sequence within the DNA.
*2... Short for Single Nucleotide Polymorphism. A region in the DNA sequence where a single base is replaced with a different variant from person to person. Compared to STR, this method examines a greater number of regions and targets the replacement of a single base, resulting in a lower risk of misjudgment due to mutation.
*3... The DNA profiling standard set by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) is 99.9%
◇ Future Service Development
We plan to partner with an American reagent company to sell testing reagents and analysis software to overseas markets, with the aim of providing ultra-high-precision DNA testing not only domestically but to testing institutions around the world.
