DNA Testing Kit

A DNA testing kit is a complete package containing the tools and documents necessary to collect a DNA sample at home. seeDNA's kit includes an application form, consent form, collection swabs, and a return envelope, allowing you to begin sample collection the day you receive it(1).

For paternity DNA testing, sample collection is completed simply by lightly rubbing the inside of the mouth (inside the cheek) with the included cotton swab. The process takes about 1 minute, with no pain or bleeding. It can be safely collected even from newborns right after birth. After collection, simply place it in the return envelope included in the kit and drop it in a mail box.

The main difference is the type of sample collected. The paternity DNA testing kit collects oral cells using a cotton swab, while the prenatal DNA testing kit collects maternal blood (using a conical tube). The prenatal kit includes documents to be submitted to a medical institution, and blood collection must be performed at a medical institution(2).

Round-trip shipping for the kit is free. There is no cost for shipping from seeDNA to the customer, nor for returning it from the customer to seeDNA. When returning it, simply use the return envelope included in the kit and drop it in your nearest mail box.
