Support for Victims of Sexual Violence
In order to fulfill our social responsibility as Asia’s No. 1 DNA testing facility, we started free DNA testing service to victims of sexual violence
Unfortunately, 95% of the victims that are impregnated during an act of sexual violence choose to have an abortion.
The older prenatal paternity testing methods of amniocentesis and CVS testing are not commonly offered in Japan, and the latest method of prenatal paternity testing using a maternal blood sample can be expensive. No doubt these two factors contributed to the trend of sexual violence victims opting for abortion even in situations where there was a possibility the baby was their legitimate partner`s, as they had no options to confirm the paternity of the baby.
For victims that choose to give birth to the baby, having a prenatal paternity test done can give them peace of mind and have a less stressful pregnancy.
We at seeDNA hope that our services can help victims of sexual violence regain a sense of normalcy and as soon as possible.
We perform DNA tests at our laboratory, using an improved testing method that is 3 times more accurate than previously used methods. We follow internal regulations that are stricter than the international guidelines because we believe in providing results of the highest accuracy to our clients.
